ClinicAid (VB.NET)

ClinicAid is a system designed to help veterinary professionals quickly perform calculations.  Available calculations include:

- Dosages, both of single drugs and drug combinations

- Drip flow rates

- Energy requirements

It is possible to search for drugs by keyword, species and form, using an easy to learn token system for speed.

The desktop version also contains a quick lookup function for various information as well as unit conversion and a time period adder (i.e.: what is date is three weeks from now, or how old is a dog born on 21st November 2004?)

All information is easily editable, and functionality is available for online sharing of protocols with other users (currently I'm the only regular user).

I've been using this regularly in my work since before I qualified - it started out on a Psion Revo.

Requires the NET framework 2.0, but the link allows download of this.

A Pocket PC version is also available.   The interface is a little simpler but its even more useful as it doesn't require you to keep going to a PC.  It also includes a timer, for those of you who share my inability to keep track of how long a consultation is taking.

I did try to produce a version which would work on a Smartphone but ran into some weird problem which may have been specific to that particular setup.

NB: I'm pretty happy with the accuracy of the data supplied, but typos do occur and with the rarer drugs I may not have found out about them and corrected them.  So do please satisfy yourself that the results given are "about right" rather than taking things as gospel.  The only issue I remember having was with atipamazole dosages (due to the oddish conversion required I think) and Mesalin (it turned out that the datasheet info itself had recently changed).
