This is a mix of links you may find helpful, and links to products that I have used to help me with the game.
| GURPS Lite | The basics of GURPS; enough to create _a_ character, but with only basic source material. You can purchase more source material from this site if you need to. |
| GURPS Character Creator | Makes it very much easier to create GURPS characters than faffing around with just the books (although you still need at least the books themselves to work out what all the various things mean) |
| http://www.eldritch.org/erskin/roleplaying/planet.php | Creates rather nice looking fractal planetary maps, unfortunately without biomes and unfortunately not in a form which you can easily import into a terrain editor. I did finally settle on the one below as it did rivers as well. |
| http://www.nbos.com/ | The website of the makers of Astrosynthesis, the Fractal World Explorer bit of which I finally used for the planetary maps. You can't save, but you can export which is almost as nice. |
| WeeWorld | App which allows you to create cartoon pictures of your character. Use the "Print Scren" key then paste into a paint program to save the pic. |
| Eric Funk's GURPS page | Repository containing a lot of useful stuff. |
| http://www.johnbray.org.uk/planetdesigner/ | Does a lot of number crunching to make sure any planets you
create are astrophysically possible.
Just for the record, this is written by a completely different John Bray who knows a lot more about astrophysics than I do. |
